Vilamoura has two beaches – Praia de Vilamoura and Praia da Falésia. They are actually the same endless stretch of beach that runs for miles, separated by the marina. The sand is fine and golden, the water is clear and the beaches offer areas with sunbeds for lazy days and lots of water sports for some fun in the sea. There is plenty to do and see. See the fascinating Roman ruins at Cerro da Vila, play mini golf, explore nature trails, and there is a great tennis and padel centre.
There are several golf courses that attract golfers all year round. Boat trips are a very popular activity here – you can opt to go fishing, cruise along the coast, or enjoy a day at sea in a private luxury yacht.
Holidays to Vilamoura
There are several popular developments offering holiday villas in Vilamoura to suit everyone. Pinhal Velho is one of the most prestigious, with beautiful villas set on large grounds, offering comfort and privacy, yet only a few minutes drive from the holiday fun at the marina.
Vilasol resort is on the outskirts of Vilamoura. A popular, family-friendly resort, there are restaurants and bars here, as well as a golf course. Just a short walk outside Vilasol are several typically Portuguese restaurants (some of our favourites !) offering feasts of local dishes and seafood. Aquashow Waterpark is just a few minutes away too. Vilasol is a tranquil location that has plenty of facilities. Just a few minutes drive from the centre of Vilamoura.
